B Racing: A Bold, High-Octane Display Font
Designer Notes You’ll Thank Yourself For Later
- Test B Racing in black and white first—color can mask poor contrast or awkward spacing.
- Check readability at actual output sizes: 24pt on a product label, 48px on a mobile ad, 120pt on a tradeshow banner.
- Try it on real mockups—not just in Figma or Illustrator previews. Print a test label. Project it. See how light hits the curves.
- Compare uppercase vs. lowercase use side-by-side. You’ll likely default to all-caps for strength—but know when mixing cases adds welcome softness.
- Review kerning manually. Auto-kerning rarely honors B Racing’s tight rhythm. Adjust ‘AV’, ‘To’, and ‘Fr’ especially.
- Test font pairing rigorously: set a paragraph in a trusted serif font next to a B Racing headline. Then try the same with a neutral sans serif font, a delicate script font, and another display font. Notice where hierarchy breathes—and where it chokes.
- Confirm commercial licensing before using in client work, digital products, or any revenue-generating design assets. Not all display fonts include extended licenses for resale items like Canva templates or printable design bundles.
